TeachLivE Editorial

We want to thank all the Beta partners and the new clients who are a part of the research and development associated with TLE TeachLivE. Your cooperation, feedback, and patience is all appreciated. Sometimes users forget that TLE TeachLive is an ongoing development project where changes, refinements, and new developments occur on a continuing basis. The same refinements and changes occur with the practices and policies related to use of the system. We are learning more and more about how to deliver high fidelity teaching scenarios to your labs. Help us by continuing to provide feedback and send your lesson plans early so we can prepare the best possible scenarios for you. Thank you again for participating with us in this adventure to create a cutting edge system to help all of our teacher candidates become more effective teachers.

Lisa Visits Education Nation Summit

Our work in TeachLivE was represented this year at Education Nation. I was invited to attend the NBC Education Nation Summit thanks to our newest TeachLivE project and had the chance to talk with folks from the Jackie Robinson Foundation, the Helios Foundation, Learning Forward, Change the Equation, Pearson Foundation and many others. We also had the chance to hear from everyone from Michael Bloomberg to Brian Williams to Colin Powell to Condoleezza Rice to Jenna Bush to Chelsey Clinton to teachers (my favorite, of course). The closing panel was the past and current Secretaries of Education, Paige, Riley, Duncan and Spelling. I had two chances to show TeachLivE in a small setting, but in general had a chance to talk with several people about our work including a chance discussion with one of the Vice Presidents of NBC on a bus ride who was very intrigued by our work and has followed up after the summit. Overall, it was a privilege to be 1 of about 300 people in the audience and above is a picture of how close I was to watch the action!
